It’s been hot and humid in the New River Valley in the last few days, and after Friday night’s storm there are still many in the area without power. Appalachian Power is working on it, and is constantly updating their website.

Various municipalities are also opening cooling shelters to residents – check with your local authorities to find out where that is. And, if you’re one of those without power, don’t forget that your neighbors likely don’t have it, as well – be sure to check on them, and keep each other safe.
