They say real estate is local, right?  Well, closing costs are, as well.

And Virginia’s closing costs remain very, very low – ranked 39th, in fact, according to the following chart from Bankrate.com and Dan Green.

Looks like we’re hovering around an average of $3750 or so per transaction for mortgage closing costs.  And in the New River Valley, based on tax rates and such, it could be even lower.  Real estate really IS local.
