A Sincere and Grateful “Thanks”

Love it or hate it, The Roanoke Times’ “Best of the NRV” list came out a couple of weeks ago.

Best New River Valley real estate agents

Thank you.  Thank you for thinking enough of me to vote. Thank you for entrusting me with your business, and referrals, these last eight years.

And next year, let’s (1) get Nest Realty on that list of Best Real Estate Companies, and then (2) knock Mr. Mike off of his perch! 😉

Best of the New River Valley Series

The Burgs’ 7th Annual Best of the NRV is out – have you voted for your favorites throughout the New River Valley?

I’ve been fortunate enough to have been named as a finalist for this on several occasions – I even went so far as to participate in a series of videos highlighting the fact that on one occasion, I was the first loser (#2).  See?  And see?  There’s even an interview with a dog.  Weird.

In the past, I’ve been a little hesitant to ask for votes.  But you know what?  Forget that.  Vote.  Vote often.  Mike’s a great agent and he’s taught me a lot over the years that we worked together at Townside, but your time is up, Mike.  Let the little guy have a shot! 🙂

Voting is open until midnight on March 11th.  You can access the whole Best of the NRV survey here – but I’ve found that it’s easiest to start at item #54, click “Jeremy Hart of Nest Realty Group“, and then select Done.  I’m kidding … vote for your favorites throughout the list, there are plenty of great local businesses, locations and services to support!  And next year, I want to see Nest Realty Group listed under the Best Real Estate Company category – because we’re gonna be.

All kidding aside, thank you for giving me the opportunity to live and work in this community.  I absolutely love Blacksburg and the New River Valley, and I’m honored that someone somewhere thinks enough of my work to include me with such incredible agent as those listed in this year’s category.  Remember – Jeremy for #54!

Thank You.

I’ve been hearing that Coldwell Banker Townside, Mike Eggleston and myself were all named in The Roanoke Times’  “Best Of” New River Valley real estate category, but I haven’t seen a copy yet.  It’s an honor to be named again, it truly is.  I haven’t been in the New River Valley long (10 years), and have only been in real estate for seven – to have this many people suggest I’m “one of the best” is humbling and, truthfully, a little unnerving.  You people have low standards! 🙂

Seriously, thank you for the recognition.  It’s an honor to have the opportunity to serve in this community, as well as with the folks at Coldwell Banker Townside – they’re really one of the best.  And it reminds me of the videos we did last year as I campaigned – and ultimately failed – to unseat Mike Eggleston as the #1 real estate agent in the New River Valley.  I’m coming for you, Mike.  Be very afraid.

Here’s a screenshot from Coldwell Banker Townside’s blog, Keepin’ It Real Estate.  If anyone has a link to the whole “Best Of” issue, please send it along?  I haven’t found a copy yet.

I’m Thinking Of A Number Between One and Five

The votes are in …

In 2009, yours truly was named the #2 real estate agent in the New River Valley.  As part of my 12-step plan to take over the world, I participated in a highly-organized, well-planned, subversive video campaign to knock Mike Eggleston from his #1 perch.

And I failed.  That’s right – I actually got worse at my job, according to readers of The Roanoke Times.  See for yourself … it’s right there on Page 35. You all really know how to make a guy feel special.

I kid.  While I hadn’t exactly planned to have a t-shirt printed with #4 on it, it’s pretty amazing to be named with such great agents.  And to have three of the top five all come from the same office?  Absolutely phenomenal, and one of the reasons why I’m proud to associate with the office that you named, once again, the best in the New River Valley.  Thank you for your support of us all through the years, and let me tell you – The Roanoke Times needs to expand their list next year because we’ve got plenty more great agents who deserve to have their names included!  Oh, and congratulations to Brandon Nicely and Alcova Mortgage, named the best mortgage company in the New River Valley as well!

And for old times sake, we’ll bring back one of the videos … now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to burn my #2 shirt.

“Best in the New River Valley” series – Part 3

The Best in the New River Valley series continues today!  We had fun with Part 1 and Part 2, and this time we introduce Mike Eggleston, the New River Valley’s #1 real estate agent in 2009 as voted by Roanoke Times readers.

Don’t forget to vote!  Voting is now open at The Roanoke Times‘ website, or by clicking through on this link, and the deadline to cast your vote is February 14th.

Disclaimer #1 – your participation entitles you to nothing but our undying admiration. And – we hope – perhaps a chuckle or three.

Disclaimer #2 – thank you for thinking so much of us.  Seriously.  We’ve had a lot of fun with these videos, and we hope that you enjoy them, but in all honesty none of this would be happening if you didn’t think well of us and vote.

Disclaimer #3 – see Disclaimers 1 and 2.  Rinse and repeat.

“Best of the New River Valley” series – Part 1

The Roanoke Times’ “Best of the New River Valley” contest is back, and voting has begun!

You might remember – probably not, but let me remind you – that last year, you voted me the #2 real estate agent in the New River Valley.  You also voted another Coldwell Banker Townside agent, Mike Eggleston, the #1 real estate agent, AND voted our office the #1 real estate office – a clean sweep.

In anticipation of even better things to come, Kelsey and the folks in our marketing department decided to step it up a notch this year, debuting a series of videos highlighting the office, Mike, and yours truly.  We’ll roll them out over the next several days, but here’s the first one.

Don’t forget to vote!  Voting is now open at The Roanoke Times‘ website, or by clicking through on this link, and the deadline to cast your vote is February 14th.

If You Ain’t First, You Can Be Second

In the words of the poet Ricky Bobby, “If you ain’t first, you’re last“.

But being named runner-up in The Roanoke Times’ “Best of the NRV” contest as the area’s best real estate agent isn’t so bad, either (see page 31).  I’ve just learned that I’ve been nominated as one of the New River Valley’s best real estate agents, behind Mr. Real Estate himself Mike Eggleston, and tied with Priscilla Morris.  Fantastic company, if you ask me.  Oh, and speaking of a fantastic company – Coldwell Banker Townside was named the number 1 real estate company in the New River Valley.  It’s nice to be a part of such an outstanding organization.

Thank you to everyone who voted in this year’s contest, and for your trust in us as professionals.  This year, second … next year, we just hijack the contest! 🙂

Vote In the “Best of the NRV” Contest! (Maybe you’ll know a real estate agent to nominate?)

surveyThe Roanoke Times’Best of the New River Valley” contest is back for 2009.  Now’s your chance to vote for all your “bests” in the area – Best Place For A Drink, Best Hike, Best Real Estate Agent, Best Scenic Drive …

What’s that?  I snuck in Best Real Estate Agent?  I did not, thank you very much – it’s right there in Section 8, under Professional Services!  But I’d certainly like to have your vote!  You can take the survey by clicking here

Don’t forget, under Best Real Estate Agent write “Jeremy Hart“.  (shameless politicking completed)
