Oh look, hey – July 4th is here again! Here’s what’s happening this holiday weekend around the Blacksburg, Christiansburg and Radford areas … where’s YOUR favorite place to watch the fireworks?
Blacksburg
Parade begins at 2 pm at the Old Blacksburg Middle School and ends at the parking lot near Squires on Otey Street. The Mount Tabor Ruritan Club will sponsor a free family movie,Remember the Titans, at The Lyric Theatre after the parade, and some downtown merchants will be open for business that afternoon. The Town of Blacksburg will have music and fireworks at Municipal Park on Turner Street beginning at 5 pm. Music includes performances from The Meter’s Running featuring the Big Dog Brass, Blacksburg Community Band and Blacksburg Community Strings and Celebration Chorus.
Fireworks begin at 9:30 pm.

Christiansburg
- Festivities begin at 5:00pm
- Fireworks 9:45pm
- All festivities take place at Christiansburg High School
Radford
- from what I’ve heard, Radford is a great place to celebrate if you want something different
- All festivities take place at Bisset Park
