by Jeremy on June 28, 2011

Oh look, hey – July 4th is here again!  Here’s what’s happening this holiday weekend around the Blacksburg, Christiansburg and Radford areas … where’s YOUR favorite place to watch the fireworks?

Blacksburg

Parade begins at 2 pm at the Old Blacksburg Middle School and ends at the parking lot near Squires on Otey Street. The Mount Tabor Ruritan Club will sponsor a free family movie,Remember the Titans, at The Lyric Theatre after the parade, and some downtown merchants will be open for business that afternoon. Information and a registration form for this year’s July 4th Parade can be downloaded at www.rowanmountain.com/ParadeInfo2011.pdf.

The Town of Blacksburg will have music and fireworks at Municipal Park on Turner Street beginning at 5 pm. Music includes performances from The Meter’s Running featuring the Big Dog Brass, Blacksburg Community Band and Blacksburg Community Strings and Celebration Chorus.

Fireworks begin at 9:30 pm.

Christiansburg

Radford

  • from what I’ve heard, Radford is a great place to celebrate if you want something different
  • All festivities take place at Bisset Park

Have a great Fourth of July.  Celebrate, have a great time with your community, and stay safe!
