“Caption This” Winners Announced

by Jeremy on December 17, 2009

You came back?! Wow, I lost that bet - but glad you're here!

Thanks to all who played our “Christmas Caption This” contest!  We had more submissions than any other contest we’d ever done, but we could only pick one winner … well, in this case maybe one or two more, there were too many great captions!  First, the setup:

Last week, I posted this picture, and here’s the rest of the story:Christmas ladder

“The good news is that I truly out did myself this year with my Christmas  decorations. The bad news is that I had to take him down after 2 days. I had more people come screaming up to my house than ever. Great stories. But two things made me take it down.

First, the cops advised me that it would cause traffic accidents as they almost wrecked when they drove by.

Second, a 55 year old lady grabbed the 75 pound ladder almost killed herself putting it against my house and didn’t realize it was fake until she climbed to the top (she was not happy). By the way, she was one of many people who attempted to do that. My yard couldn’t take it either. I have more than a few tire tracks where people literally drove up my yard.”

So that was the backdrop to the picture – it’s since been confirmed by Snopes.com to be true.  And did you guys ever come through with captions!  I’m kind of surprised no one went year 2000 on me and called him a “hanging Chad”, but nevertheless this was fun.  Thanks to Russ and the Easy Chair Coffee Shop for participating – make sure to go by them and try one of their daily coffees, brewed on site!  And now for the winners:
