I agree with your assertion that a REALTOR should be providing continued service long after the transaction - totally on board with that. Just replied to an email from a former client who was requesting some help with an addition, and was glad to give two contractors I work a great deal with. And ran into another today who purchased his first home last week and was appliance shopping - we talked about places to go that he hadn't already thought of.Your comment about that "fact sheet" struck me, however. From what I know about you, you seem to be a nuts and bolts guy - you want the facts, not the fluff. But your comment led me to believe you want to know "the story", you want to envision yourself in the home ... correct? The reason I ask is because of my new signs - how do they strike you? Do you see them as a fact sheet, or do you imagine they'd create an emotion when you pulled up in front of the house?

Mike, thanks for this. Obviously you realize that you're providing an experience to the shopper and not just some dry, bland fact sheet with the number of bathrooms and bedrooms. Housing fact sheets (or however you call them in the industry), to me, are just a way to filter my home search but providing me with an experience and a taste of how I'll be living will ultimately give me the confidence of making such a big purchase by giving me a sense of how happy I'll be in the home. Not sure what the numbers are for buyer's remorse are, but stuff like this would help buyers with that. But I'm still insistent that my Realtor needs to be there well after the sale giving me tips on homeownership, taxes, homeowner's insurance tips and recommendations, and other things that renters don't have to deal with. If my Realtor had given me those, especially since I was a first time homeowner, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend, and even push his or her name out there since he or she would be like a friend I could go to with questions. But you know all this already and I'm glad to see that you're making selling real estate more than just selling houses.

I love seeing blurry photos and empty corners of houses!
