One of the most popular posts on this blog recently has been about the upcoming New River Valley Triathlon – and the date hasn’t even been set yet! But that’s cool that so many are already interested in it; I know personally I’ve already heard from six people that say they’re going to do it with me. I’m keeping you to that.
From the New River Valley Triathlon page comes a few new posts:
* The Virginia Tech Triathlon Club is getting involved. If you think this is a bunch of college kids just hanging out, think again – the Women’s National Champion (twice) is a member of this club!!
* You might want to consider the Frosty 5k. I’m considering it … ugh, I can’t believe I just wrote that.
Speaking from personal experience, this is a really cool thing to have in our backyard and I hope you can find a way to participate. Even if you don’t race in the first New River Valley Triathlon, maybe consider volunteering. There are all kinds of things needed for an event like this, and according to the organizer, Anne Giles Clelland, there’s a volunteer list right now of … ONE. Email her if you’re interested in seeing how you can help, or sign up today!
