Tired of the broken record?  Sick of hearing me talk about how the New River Valley is a great place to be?  Fine.  I don’t care.  How about listening to someone who actually made the decision to move here because they believed it?  So it might not be about the New River Valley per se, but the Roanoke
Valley and the New River Valley are virtually indecipherable in a lot
of ways, and it more than applies in this case.

This from Stuart Mease’s blog

Need I say more?

I’d say their opinion is skewed by the everything is better at home philosophy. Probably hanging out with the old high school friends, went to VT and has that built in network, etc. Biased opinion, I like New Philadelphia, OH much more than my wife does but that’s just b/c I grew up there and am comfortable there.

And I don’t buy the can’t afford a vacation in NYC comment. I have friends there making $75-80/year and not being restricted in travel. Some people like small towns, some big. Personal choice. For me – my home in OH is just right (for now).
