No Tax Rate Increase for Christiansburg …

The Roanoke Times reported today that Christiansburg has voted against a tax rate increase for the 2007-2008 fiscal budget, effectively neutralizing the budget and saving $306000.

I obviously haven’t been privy to the talks but how much longer can Christiansburg continue to keep rates low?  Realizing that the recent real estate assessment will add a little more to the coffers, how much longer do fire and rescue response times need to be?  It’s a great community to live in, I’m just concerned that they’re waiting too long to make much needed improvements in several very important areas.  We’ll see what happens …
