It’s just been announced that a new hotel will be coming to Floyd, but in typical Floyd fashion this one will be just a little bit different.  Jack Wall and his wife, Kamala Bauers, are constructing the new Hotel Floyd, scheduled for completion in the summer of 2007, and they’re focusing construction on LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification for the hotel to include green technology and sustainable design features.  The hotel, and subsequent conference center, will be the only hotel in downtown Floyd, within walking distance of restaurants, shops and more.  You can find out more about the hotel, and it’s owners, in the New River Valley Current’s Friday edition.
